Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Profety collects, why, and what choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to run a scoreboard, your predictions are private unless they are among the best or you share them, and we do not sell your personal information.

Last updated: October 25, 2026

1. Who we are

Profety is operated by Profety & Co. In this policy “Profety”, “we” and “us” mean the operator. Privacy questions go to support.ai@profety.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information. Display name or handle, email address, whether you joined as an individual, an agency or a sponsor, and a password or login token. A private ID, if you choose one.
  • Optional profile information. Your home country or region, the main market you follow, and the follower counts you report. We show follower counts for information only.
  • Your activity. Your predictions, the time we recorded each one, your scores, the questions you suggest, and reviews you request.
  • Messages. What you send us through the contact or suggestion forms, and our replies.
  • Automatic information. Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring pages, dates and times, and similar usage data, collected through cookies, server logs and similar tools.
  • From others. If an agency signs you up, we receive your name and email from the agency. Our service providers may give us analytics or delivery information.

We do not ask for payment card or bank details, because Profety is free and has no payments.

3. What is public and what is private

  • Public: your display name or handle, your market, your titles and awards, and your best predictions once an answer is in, and your overall score and rank if you reach the top of a scoreboard. A ranking shows a display name or a private ID.
  • Private: all your other predictions, your email address, and your card until you share it. Private predictions still count toward your overall score.
  • Shared by you: anything you post or share outside Profety, such as a card on social media, is outside our control.

Public information can be seen by anyone, copied, and indexed by search engines. Removing it from Profety may not remove copies made elsewhere. Choose a private ID or an alias if you want to stay anonymous.

4. How we use information

  • run the Service: create your account, record and score predictions, build rankings and name winners;
  • keep Profety fair: prevent duplicate accounts, manipulation and abuse, and review records when you ask;
  • communicate with you: confirm your account, answer messages, send service notices, and, if you opt in, news and updates;
  • improve the Service: understand how pages are used, fix problems, and develop new features;
  • report to sponsors and agencies in aggregate: for example predictions made and answered, card shares and visits. These reports do not include your private predictions or email address;
  • meet legal obligations and protect rights, safety and security.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for research and reporting.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share it only:

  • with service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting, email, analytics and security, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
  • with an agency, if you joined under that agency, so it can see your scores;
  • with sponsors, only as aggregated reports described above, or as you direct;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our members or the public;
  • in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you where required;
  • with your consent.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to keep you logged in, remember your settings, keep the Service secure, and understand how it is used. If you accept analytics cookies, we use a basic analytics service to count page views and see which pages work; it receives pages viewed, device type and approximate location, and we use the results in aggregate. We do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels. We will name the analytics provider on the Cookies page before analytics is switched on. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may stop working. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

7. How long we keep information

Conversations with our AI assistant are kept for up to 12 months so we can answer you and improve the service; the assistant is labeled as an AI, never claims to be a person, and passes account, score and complaint matters to a person. We keep account and activity information while your account is open and as long as we need it to maintain rankings, awards and the public record of corrected answers. After you ask us to remove your profile we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

8. Your choices and rights

  • see, correct or update your account information in your settings or by writing to us;
  • choose a display name or a private ID, and change it later;
  • ask us to remove your profile or delete your account;
  • opt out of marketing email by using the link in any message;
  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the EEA, or the UK) you may have additional rights, including to know, access, correct, delete or port your information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, write to support.ai@profety.com. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your local data-protection authority. Residents of the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and California: see the regional addendum below.

9. Children

Profety is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your login details private. If a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.

11. International use

We are based in the United States and process information there, and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred to places with different data-protection laws. Where the law requires safeguards for transfers from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on approved mechanisms such as the Standard Contractual Clauses. See the regional addendum below.

12. Regional addendum: EEA, UK, Switzerland and California

The Service is aimed at people in the United States. This addendum applies if you use it from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or if you are a California resident.

  • Who is responsible. Profety & Co. decides how and why your information is used (the “controller”). We have not appointed a representative in the EEA or UK, because we do not direct the Service at people there; write to support.ai@profety.com with any request.
  • Why we use your information. To provide your account and scoreboard, which is our contract with you; to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and improve it, which are our legitimate interests; to comply with the law; and, for non-essential cookies and any marketing email, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Your rights. You may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your information, object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. We answer within one month, or tell you why we need longer. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.
  • Transfers. Your information is processed in the United States. Where the law requires, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or another approved mechanism.
  • California. You may ask what personal information we collect, have it deleted or corrected, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for using these rights.

13. Links to other sites

The Service may link to other sites, including news publishers. They have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If the changes are material we will post a notice on the Service or email you, and update the date above.

15. Contact
