Terms of use

Terms of Use

These terms explain how you may use Profety, a free scoreboard and awards program for predictions. Please read them. By using the site you agree to them.

Last updated: October 25, 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Profety (“Profety”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Profety & Co. These terms apply to profety.com and anything we publish under the Profety name, including the Prediction Market Awards (together, the “Service”). We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will post it here and update the date above. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.

2. What Profety is, and what it is not

Profety scores predictions and recognizes the best ones with rankings, titles and badges. That is all it does.

  • No money at stake. Using Profety is free. There are no fees, no deposits, no entry costs and no prizes of cash or value.
  • Not a trading venue. Profety is not a broker, exchange, market maker, sportsbook or gambling service. You cannot buy, sell or trade anything, and nothing you do here creates a contract on the outcome of an event.
  • Not advice. Predictions, scores, rankings and news links are for information and entertainment. The future is uncertain. Do not rely on anything here for financial, investment, legal, medical, or planning decisions.

3. Who may use Profety

You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding agreement. If you sign up for an agency or sponsor, you confirm you are allowed to act for it.

You may not use the Service where doing so is against the law. The Service is not offered to people in countries or regions under comprehensive US sanctions or embargoes, or to anyone on a US government restricted-party list.

4. Your account

You choose a display name or handle when you join. It is public. You may instead choose a private ID or an alias to appear without your name.

Give us accurate information, keep your login secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Each person may have one personal account.

5. Your predictions and your questions

  • Predictions. You own your predictions. Our own server clock records the time of each one. You can change a prediction at no cost until 24 hours before the question’s deadline. After that it is frozen: new predictions are also closed, and the last update before the freeze is the one scored. If the question’s named source publishes the answer before the deadline, the question closes at that moment, and your last update before then (or before the freeze, if that came first) is the one scored. A prediction entered after that moment is not counted, even if we record the answer later. A preliminary or partial report does not count unless the question says so in advance, If the source later corrects the answer, we correct the outcome publicly and rescore the affected predictions, or cancel the question if the answer cannot be settled. If an answer is demonstrably public from another authoritative source before the named source updates, we may pause new entries and exclude entries made after it became public.
  • What is public. Only the best predictions on a question are shown with your display name, once the answer is in. Other predictions stay private unless you share them, and they still count toward your overall score.
  • Questions you suggest. You may suggest a question or event. We review each one on our question standards and may accept, edit, decline or remove it. If it is published it appears as “Suggested by” followed by your display name, or anonymously, as you choose. You are not paid for suggestions, and a suggested question counts for other members but not toward your own main rank.
  • Licence to us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, score and share your predictions, display name and suggested questions as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy, so we can run the Service. You keep ownership.

6. Scoring, rankings and awards

We score predictions with one public method, described on the Scoreboard page. Quarterly titles are judged on the Editors’ Set, a group of about ten events chosen by our editors each quarter; Best Track Record and Rising Predictor go to contestants, meaning members who entered at least 70% of the set’s events that were not cancelled (rounded up), and are scored on the whole set with any skipped event counted as a 50% prediction; and Prediction of the Quarter is open to every ranked member. Titles recognize a record and do not promise audience growth, income or opportunities. We decide how each question is answered, using the public source named when the question opens.

  • Our decisions on answers, scores, rankings and awards are final, subject to the review process below.
  • We first post a proposed result with its source, and any member may flag it within 24 hours; after that the result is final. If we get an answer wrong, or the named source later corrects itself, we correct it publicly, show the correction by ID and rescore. If a question’s written rule and its plain meaning cannot be reconciled, we may cancel it.
  • You can ask us in writing to review a record. We pause its use while we check.
  • If you win a title under a private ID or an alias, we announce it under that name, tell you privately, and you may accept it under that name, reveal your own name later, or decline it. Titles, badges and rankings have no cash value and are not transferable. We may withdraw one if it was earned through a breach of these terms.

7. Rules of conduct

You agree not to:

  • open more than one personal account, or work with others to manipulate rankings or scores;
  • use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the Service, or to bulk-copy its content, without our written permission;
  • make predictions or suggest questions using confidential information you have no right to use;
  • suggest questions on off-limits topics, including attacks, casualties and assassinations, the health or death of named people, crimes and verdicts, betting lines, spreads or odds, or an influencer’s followers, income, relationships or conduct;
  • post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, misleading, or that infringes someone else’s rights, or that exposes private information about others;
  • impersonate any person or organization, or misstate your affiliation;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to the Service, interfere with it, or probe or test its security.

We may remove content, change a ranking, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

8. Sponsors and agencies

Some questions, series and awards are sponsored and are labeled “Sponsored by” or “Presented by”. Sponsors cannot buy or change a score, a rank or an award, and do not see anyone’s private predictions. An agency may add creators under its own account. The creators keep their own names and records.

9. News and other third-party content

We may show headlines, source names and links from other publishers, and links to other sites. We do not control or endorse that content and are not responsible for it. News shown beside a question is context only and never changes a score.

10. Our content and trademarks

The Service, including its design, text, scoring method, logos and the Profety and Prediction Market Awards names, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may share your own cards and links freely. You may not copy, republish or build on our content for commercial use without our written permission.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at support.ai@profety.com, or through our Contact page.

11. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions about the Service, we may use them without owing you anything.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. By using the Service you agree that we may process your information as described there.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate, and we disclaim all warranties, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Predictions, scores and rankings reflect the opinions of members and are not statements of fact.

14. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we and our sponsors, affiliates, officers and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to US$100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from your content or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.

16. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service, or ask us to remove your profile, at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or remove content, if you break these terms or if we need to protect the Service or other members. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers, liability and disputes) continue after your access ends.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these terms, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.

18. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part is found unenforceable the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term, that is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor.

19. Contact

Questions about these terms: support.ai@profety.com, or use our Contact page.
